Seguin
The Township of Seguin, incorporated in 1998, is one of Muskoka’s newer municipalities, named after Seguin River and the historic Seguin Trail used by Indigenous peoples and early settlers. Originally part of Parry Sound District, its development was shaped by logging, farming, and the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway in the late 1800s. Unlike Muskoka’s resort-heavy townships, Seguin retained a quieter, wilderness-focused character while evolving into a four-season recreational haven with lakes, trails, and cottage communities.
