Meet EJ Gordon
There are many hundreds of lakes dotted across the glorious landscapes of Muskoka. EJ, whose family has been in Muskoka since the late 1800's, appreciates them all. Yet, his main focus has been where he has been a cottager and worked for decades. It's the area known locally as the Big Three. Three awe inspiring lakes offering up over 100 miles of spectacular boating.
This interconnected and diverse waterway contains some of the most sought-after inland lakes in the whole of North America, and very possibly the most highly coveted lake. Lake Muskoka and the connected Muskoka Bay in the south is fed, in part, by the entire Algonguin Park watershed. Lake Muskoka also provides the major exit point for the Big Three lakes via the Moon River which exits into Georgian Bay. Lake Rosseau found in the middle position, and Lake Joseph in the north are both, in their own way, gorgeous spring fed lakes. Each unique lake have dozens of species of fish and aquatic wildlife. The forests that surround these lakes are also diverse ecosystems.
There are small hamlets, quaint villages and larger towns that can be found on, or near, the shores of the Big Three. There's plenty to do with several golf courses, marinas, lots of cool shops, grocery stores, movies houses, restaurants and places of worship. Alongside stunning modern builds are grand old estates well over a century old that still grace the shorelines. Many cottagers there park their cars and doing everything by a cherished classic wooden boat.
